Steps

Talk to Kumamon in Prontera to travel to Kumamoto.

First daily quest: take Kumamoto Farm Experience from Barmundt.

Pick 1 watermelon from the watermelon patch and 1 tomato from the tomato patch. Choose a good one; a miss just means picking again — nothing is lost.
Hand them to Barmundt. Your first clear gives the Kumamon Mask costume.
Second daily quest: wear the Kumamon Mask, talk to Watermelon Poring, then collect 5 watermelons and 5 tomatoes scattered around Kumamoto.

Tips

Watermelon hint: the farmer says to slap a ripe one firmly once, and a dry stem means a sweet one. Cutting the vine with scissors may crush it.
Tomato hint: be gentle — pulling hard or slipping with scissors may bruise it.
Don't go in overweight, or you won't be able to carry the harvest.
The farm has 7 photo spots with Kumamon.
Kumamoto Watermelons and Tomatoes need Base Lv. 10 and are all deleted when the event ends — use them up.
Account-limited collab packages are sold 1–29 Oct (35,000 KP); each includes the Kumamon Doll costume. During the event it gives +5% EXP from monsters, and +5% item drop rate when worn with the Kumamon Mask costume. These bonuses end with the event.
After the collab, collab costumes can be converted to bound versions, and bound costumes can be enchanted.
